BALESTRIERE DIRECTS INVESTIGATION INTO INSURANCE FRAUD RESULTING IN NUMBER OF ARRESTS
John Balestriere, as an Assistant Attorney general, lead a team in the
investigations of various types of auto insurance fraud that secured the
arrest and conviction of a dozen people. These investigations, coupled with others led by other assistant attorneys general, represented the birth of the Auto Insurance Fraud Unit in the New York State Attorney General's Office and the first significant foray into the complex and growing field of auto insurance fraud by any law enforcement agency in the New York area.
