Craig Stuart Lanza

Craig Stuart Lanza, a New York native and a former Brooklyn prosecutor, is an experienced trial attorney who has handled all kinds of litigation matters and who has a background in securities regulation.

Prior to joining Balestriere Lanza PLLC, Mr. Lanza worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, New York. There, he tried cases and conducted numerous hearings with a large caseload consisting of serious felonies, including burglaries, robberies, assaults, and attempted murders. Mr. Lanza presented hundreds of cases of all types to the Grand Jury, conducting direct examination of hundreds of witnesses and cross-examination of scores of criminal defendants.

Before working with the Kings County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Lanza served as an associate at the firm of Seward and Kissell, LLP where he advised clients in the hedge fund industry regarding both business and legal issues, including compliance with the regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission.

During Law School, Mr. Lanza worked in the chambers of Federal District Court Judge Harold Baer of the Southern District of New York. He assisted the Court in drafting opinions concerning a variety of different matters.

Mr. Lanza is a graduate of Duke Law School, where he was awarded an Eisenberg Scholarship. He also studied law at the University of Hong Kong and philosophy, at the graduate level, at New York University's Gallatin School. Mr. Lanza graduated from New York University's College of Arts and Sciences magna cum laude. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the state of New York.
